Hi all,

I've sold my Renault Sport Clio. Basically I needed a diesel as I'm doing more mileage these days, I also wanted something that would carry 4 adults in a bit of comfort.

For the past 7 weeks I've been driving around in a 2002 Renault Laguna 2.2 DCi. It was a really nice car, really comfortable on long journeys and easily accommodated 4 adults. But, I was dissapointed with the fuel economy and whilst I'd get around 46mpg on a long run, I was barely getting 34mpg the rest of the time.

So, I've now got myself a 2007 Citroen C4 1.6 HDi Coupe. It's got a really good spec, cruise control, automatic lights, automatic wipers etc, all electrics. And now for the best bit - I can do over 700 miles on a tank of fuel and over a tank (combined driving) I'm getting a whopping 56mpg!

The C4 is an unusual looking car and certainly not to everyone's taste, but I think it looks cool and on the plus side you don't see many of these Coupes, as most of the are 5 door hatchbacks.

I have a few plans for the car and this thread will show the progress of the car over the coming months. No major modifications, but hey - this is the only 'project' thread currently on the site, lol.

So for now, here's how the car looks.

"C4owners.org"....oh christ!

It's a fair shout to buy something like that if you do a lot of miles.

....but you arn't seriously actually even going to try and contemplate that it's a coupe are you Mardy????

I suppose you're going to tell me that only Hyundai's are REAL coupe's.

Citreon call it the Coupe, and the 5 door a hatchback. So yes, I will call it a coupe.

Still on my 1st tank of fuel, 420 miles covered and the on board computer is saying there's 275 miles left in the tank. Happy days! 8)

Lol....very good.

How much does it cost you to fill the tank mate?

As long as it isn't a huge tank then it seems to be quite good on the fuel side of things!

Took £52 when I filled it from nearly empty.

The Clio took about the same but I'd only get 300 ish miles on that, lol.

You get used to the steering wheel after a while, but it was strange to start with.

The car's 'transformation' continues!

The car got lowered 50mm on Spax shocks and springs on Saturday. Here's a few photos...

It was quite a nice day yesterday so I decided to give the C4 a wash and polish. Here's a few more photos of the car as it looks currently.

Car is now on coilovers and sitting much lower than shown in the photos above. I'll post up some new photos ASAP.

If I park next to a standard C4, my wing mirrors are totally underneath the wing mirrors on a standard C4. 8)
